Our Manifesto

Why This Page Exists

We believe a website's values matter more than its SEO. This page tells you exactly what we believe, what we oppose, and how we make money. If you don't like what you read here, you shouldn't trust our reviews.

What We Believe

01

Real > Conversion

We'd rather lose a commission than lose your trust. If a product isn't good enough, we say so — and we don't link to it.

02

One Reader > One Million Clicks

Every article is written for one person: the boater trying to make a good decision. If we help that one person, we've done our job.

03

Search Intent > Keyword Density

We figure out what you actually need to know before we write a word. Keywords are clues, not the answer.

04

Long-Term Value > Launch Day

A product that works for a week is not a good product. We test for months, not hours.

05

Transparency > Authority

You should know exactly how we score, how we test, and how we make money. Authority without transparency is just marketing.

What We Oppose

Spec-Sheet Parroting

If a review could be written by an AI that only read the product page, it's not a review. It's filler. We don't publish filler.

Fake Testing

We will never invent a test number, a date, or a use experience. If we haven't tested it, we say so.

Always-On Recommendations

If a product doesn't deserve your money, we say "don't buy it" — even when that costs us affiliate revenue.

How We Make Money

Boat World earns affiliate commissions when readers buy products through our links. You pay nothing extra. Some of those commissions keep the site running and fund more testing.

Here is the important part: commissions never change our recommendations. We have turned down thousands of dollars in commissions by being honest about what not to buy. If a product isn't good enough, we don't link to it — full stop.

"If you ever catch us recommending a product we clearly haven't tested, or hiding a conflict of interest, call us out. We built this site to be better than that."
— Crystal Yifei Liu, Editor
