The hull profile and specs are nearly identical. The sail area is around 300. This information is from a 1968 sailboat buyers guide: The Pearson 300 was absolutely a variation on the Wanderer hull, but with a relatively large pilothouse, making it great for adverse weather or live aboard. Women and children could enjoy the large picture windows while sailing in adverse conditions. The text below is from a brochure from a 1968 catalog: "Pearson Yacht's latest entry in the auxiliary market, the Pearson 300 features power to spare, a commodious accommodation plan, private forward cabin, large toilet room and an elevated dinette for picture window visibility. Her rig has been brought completely inboard to enable two people to handle her comfortably. The 300 is ideal for offshore cruising or for those leaving powerboating in favor of sail." Check out the schematics of the hull, exterior and sail plans. Many people thought it would be a neat boat to own for cruising, especially on the Great Lakes, where the pilothouse might extend the relatively short sailing season. The wheel is toward the aft end of the cockpit. The 300's hoist on the main is around 26' . It appears that few 300s were built and that very few remain today, although every once in a while when one does come on the market, its your lucky day. The page lists auxiliary power at 22hp. The sails appear to be in great condition. The cables are tight. There is a main sail in the sock on the boom. The sails include both a main and a spinnaker in the bag stowed inside the boat. Pictures of the sail can be seen at photobucket in the link below. The Italian diesel inboard is in need of an overhaul. It last ran when the rusted oil pan holed through releasing the oil and seizing the engine. It is complete, transmission
