General Description

Originally called �Unfurled' she was built in 1986 at the famous Derecktors boat building facility in New York from the drawing table of naval architect David Pedrick, who has made major design contributions to the past few three decades of Americas Cup entries. The winged keel was designed by Peter Van Oossanen who was also made famous after the same keel design attributed to the successful Australian campaign for the Americas Cup in 84, which stunned the sailing world. This 71' high performance cutter sloop built of fiberglass and carbon fiber was built to world cruising standards and the attention to detail and quality of craftsmanship is a credit to the yard that has built a reputation since 1947 as one of the world's best boat building facilities.
Originally designed to be sailed by the owner and his wife the yacht is set up for shorthanded sailing where almost all sailing controls can be operated from the cockpit. The triple spreader aluminum Hood designed mast houses the hydraulic in mast furling system whilst the genoa is run off a Harken Hyrofurl hydraulic headsail furler, both operated by touch button controls at the helm. Similarly of the 19 deck winches in total on board 9 of these are electric for ease of use. The mast is supported by Navtec discontinuous rod rigging which is inspected annually, and the boom vang, babystay, backstay and inner forestay are hydraulic and once again operated from the cockpit.

The interior layout offers 4 cabins in total with a spacious saloon and well designed galley which is neatly tucked away on the port side mid ships to the side of the companionway steps. The interior is teak with white mica laminate creating a clean and fine contemporary interior. The accommodation cabins are solid timber & veneer throughout and offer a good contrast to the rest of the boat. The aft cabin is the master with a full size queen sized island walk around bed under the cockpit floor with a settee to strd and a small desk to port, the ensuite head is spacious and offers a full sized separate shower. The guest double is fwd of the mast on the strb side and also has a pullman drop down single bunk if required. Opposite on the port side is the twin cabin which is ideal for the kids. Both these cabins share a large head and separate shower. Fwd of this are the crew quarters also with head and shower that can also be used for guests if required.

Only ever having the two owners since new and a full time professional crew on board since the day she was launched the boat presents immaculately and is a credit to the current owner who has spared no expense on keeping her Bristol. Having never been chartered and with a recently new engine and 2008 generator the machinery hours are low and all the systems are in excellent condition and fully functional.
