General Description

The Garcia Passoa 47 is a fast and comfortable ocean going sail yacht offering high performance cruising for a family or couple. Built in aluminum by Garcia Bateaux in France and designed by Phillipe Harle these boats have somewhat of a cult following in Europe due to there reputation as a well engineered cruising boat that gets there first!
Papaya was a boat in neglect before the current owner found her and restored her to her former glory. In the last 2 years he has conducted an extensive refit including all new paintjob, engine, interior, rigging, sails, instruments and canvas to name a few. The boat is now ready to cross any ocean and is in turn key condition. The lifting centerboard design opens access to shallow anchorages and poorly chartered areas a boat this size would have no business to be in otherwise. Whilst also offering great up wind performance with the centerboard full down and she is easily handled from the deep safe cockpit by as little as one or two crew. Close reaching and reaching, she will speed up to 8-9 knots depending on the conditions. Downwind, she will easily sail around 9 knots and of course surf at higher speeds.

Down below the accommodation offers 4 cabins with 3 double and one twin and can a sleep a maximum of ten people at a push if required. The fwd facing nav station is to strd and a decent size that you can easily spread a chart out and still have room. The galley is also on the strb side and fwd of the nav station and runs the rest of the length of the saloon. Having the centerboard casing running down the centerline of the boat offers more workbench space for the sinks in the galley and some handy seating on the aft end. The head is in the strb quarter which also gives good access to the engine room and the port quarter is a large double cabin with storage. Fwd she has a double berth on the strb side just fwd of the galley and two cabins on the port side.
