General Description

The Trojan 44 Motor Yacht is a true classic. Introduced in 1974 as the fiberglass replacement for the very successful mahogany-planked Trojan 42, the 44 had it's own successful ten-year production run fueled by great lines and innovative design. The 44 MY has been classified as an antique yacht by the State of Florida. Headway has provided over thirty years of dependable service and has many years ahead of her.

The teak interior has the room needed for extended cruises, weekend getaways, or even living aboard. The two stateroom layout separates the staterooms fore and aft with large salon with galley in between. The master aft stateroom features island queen berth, hanging locker, and ensuite head with shower stall. The forward stateroom has V-berth with under-berth storage, hanging locker, and separate guest head with shower. The big open salon is mid-ship with wicker furniture and high-low drop-leaf table. The galley is forward on the starboard side and is equipped full-sized refrigerator/freezer, 3-burner range with oven, microwave oven, and wood-grained countertop with stainless steel double sink. The overall feel of the interior is a blend of warm woods and lots of natural light. There is a timeless quality to this antique boat.

A companionway starboard aft takes us above to the pilothouse/aft deck. The layout has the lower helm centerline forward with wing doors to either side. The aft deck has hard top and full enclosure and serves as an entertainment/dining area. The lower helm is the primary helm and is equipped normal complement of instruments along with a Raytheon 24-mile radar, Interphase GPS, Icom VHF radio, and JRC depth finder / fish finder. The wing doors allow easy access to the side decks and forward to the bow. A ladder takes us above to the flybridge. The bridge has upper helm station centerline forward with captain and companion chairs. The upper station is equipped with the usual gauges as well as a digital depth sounder and compass. There is additional bench seating aft.

Headway is powered by twin 440 Chrysler engines. Other mechanical details include Kohler 6.5kW generator with sound shield, a 1500 watt Heart invertor, and a 20 hot water tank. Concessions to this century include 20" TV and DVD player with surround sound but you can always watch old movies to maintain the atmosphere. If you appreciate the classic lines and the room and style of this beauty you should call now to schedule a showing to see her for yourself.
