General Description

The Marine Trader 44 Trawler is an excellent example of why people buy trawlers. The 44 has the spacious decks and roomy interior that is desired for long-range cruisers and live-aboards.

The large bridge is equipped with bimini top and full enclosure. There is seating for six with forward and rear facing seats. The 44 features upper and lower helm stations equipped the expected electronics including: two Garmin GPS, Raytheon depth sounder, Navman chart plotter, and Raymarine auto pilot. Teak trim and handrails adorn the wide decks that allow easy movement fore and aft with salon doors on each side. The aft deck has room to easily store a 10' dinghy. Patronus comes with four anchors and a windlass that can be operated from either helm station.

The roomy interior features two staterooms. The forward guest stateroom has v-berth, hanging locker, and under-berth storage. The separate guest head has vanity with sink, and tub/shower. The master aft cabin is large with port side double berth, two hanging lockers, mirrored vanity, bureau drawers, and ensuite head compartment with tub/shower. The comfortable salon has port side seating with two large arm chairs and starboard L-shaped settee with drop-leaf table. The salon features teak paneling and trim with parquet floors. The lower helm occupies the forward starboard corner of the salon and has it's own door to the side deck. The galley is down, forward of the salon and it large, open and newly remodeled. The appliances, new from the remodel include a Force 10 3-burner range with oven, Glanz microwave oven, Whirlpool full-sized refrigerator and grey granite countertops with teak cabinets. Two CruiseAire AC units keep the interior comfortable.

Patronus is powered by twin Lehman diesel engines with only 300 hours since being rebuilt. They provide a cruising speed of 8-9 knots. A Northern Lights generator provides off-shore electrical power.
