General Description

KALOLAINA is a perfect example of a classic offshore design and is one of the roomiest, most comfortable layouts available in a 44' cruising yacht. Without question, the Mason 44 is esthetically one of the most beautiful boats ever designed, incorporating a â�wine glass" stern, pleasing overhangs and delightful sheer line. Additionally, bulwarks, dorades, opening ports, oversize rigging and quality construction, make it a modern classic. KALOLAINA is a twin cabin layout with private double staterooms forward and aft. The staterooms are separated by the Galley and Main Saloon providing maximum privacy for the owners and their guests. This layout arrangement maximizes comfort both offshore and while living aboard for extended periods. Headroom is over 6' 5" throughout the boat and storage capacity can only be noted as â�incredible". KALOLAINA sleeps up to seven people with the Forward Cabin, Main Salon and Owner's quarter berth Cabin. The unique Forward Guest Cabin is equally as nice as the Owner's Cabin and features a large king sized V berth with filler cushion, six louvered lockers, one hanging locker, six drawers and ample shelves and cabinets throughout. Next aft to port is the large head with a roomy molded in, one piece shower stall. The head and shower are well ventilated by an opening port, an overhead hatch and a dorade. Amidships is the Main Salon which features a large, comfortable U shaped dinette to port with a large teak table with adjustable height controls. There are built in, teak louvered storage compartments with extensive storage over settees.
Aft of the Main Salon and to port, is the classic â�wrap around" U shape configured, offshore safe Galley, that will delight the gourmet, whether at sea or dockside. Directly across from the Galley, to starboard, is a large outboard facing navigation station and chart table with tremendous room for an exceptional compliment of navigation and electronic equipment for easy use while navigating. Finally, to port is the Owner's Aft Cabin. There is a large queen sized berth with storage lockers outboard, hanging lockers.

The topsides of KALOLAINA features a large unobstructed deck and cabin top. Safe and secure deck work is ensured with raised bulwarks, double fastened, extra heavy stanchion bases with double lifelines, full length stainless steel handrails on coach roof, stainless steel guards at all dorades and heavy stainless steel mast guards. The large and comfortable Cockpit is self bailing with oversized scuppers, designed for heavy weather sailing. Excellent visibility from all positions is consistent with the proven offshore capability that the sailing world expects from a serious blue water yacht. The mast is keel stepped. Glass housetop and Cockpit are two tone sand and white glass, side decks are overlay teak. Hull color is flag blue and the feature stripe is goldâ�¦ all a lovely combination with the custom toast colored Sunbrella covers, dodger and awning.
