General Description

The MCP GFT 98 Motor Yacht is designed for the yachtsman who wants the safety, comfort and global reach historically associated with trawlers but is unwilling to forfeit speed. With 3,000 mile range at 10 knots the GFT 98 is designed to go anywhere in style and comfort. The essence of the GFT 98 design is a wide-open floor plan that is family oriented and most importantly, fun. It's a design that brings the inside outside and allows for family or formal entertaining, from large crowd to quiet gathering. From the overall concept to intimate detail the GFT 98 is uncompromising dedication to perfection.

Putting into words an accurate description of four decks is a daunting task but we will try, beginning at the top. The Flybridge Deck begins upfront with a centerline helm with sweeping electronics console, a long sun lounge running portside, a fully equipped wet bar starboard, and a large circular lounge with table aft. A bimini top coming forward from the radar offers relief from the noonday sun. Aft of the radar arch is the inflatable tender with hydraulic boat davit. A portside stairway takes down one level.

At bottom of the stairway we find ourselves on the circular teak deck dining area of the Wheel House Deck. A spot where indoors meets outdoors with deck overhead and circular sliding doors allowing open air access. Inside we find an L-shaped settee to starboard and a large curving bar. This deck covers dining, relaxing, and entertaining and still tends to business. Forward is the wheelhouse with twin helm seats and aft lounge seating. Wide side decks surround the Wheel House Deck giving fresh air access to the prevailing views, a stairway to the foredeck, and aft to the external leisure area with Jacuzzi, barbeque grill, and PWC. From the Wheel House Deck we can go down to the Main Deck from either the leisure area outside or the inside companionway by the bar.

Choosing the companionway brings us to the center of the main salon. A large open galley with dining bar is to our right and big screen entertainment center to our left. Portside aft of the salon is filled with a giant C-shaped settee/dinette; starboard is a seating area. Forward of the salon is the master stateroom with ensuite bath and dressing room. Sliders at the rear of the salon take us to the aft deck with inlaid teak, entertainment area, wet bar and a hydraulically operated transom that opens to become a large swim platform. If fishing is your interest stairways on either side will lead below to the cockpit.

To reach the staterooms on the lower deck we return to the companionway in the main salon. At the bottom of the stairs is a foyer with the doorways to four large guest staterooms, each with queen berths, settees, hanging lockers, storage cabinets, and ensuite baths. A centerline passageway leads forward to the crew quarters.
