Accommodations
<b><I>Proposed Interior Layout</b></I>

The raised aft cockpit allows for a large double bed beneath it. Immediately forward of the bed is the raised pilothouse salon. It could house the inside helm, settee and lounge area with good all round visibility. Forward and down 2 steps can be the galley to port and the head & shower to starboard. Further forward would be storage lockers and the forward berth. If the boat is set up for a couple, then the forward section could be the settee that could be used as a bed for occasional guests.

<b><I>Description</b></I>
This 40 footer is built indoors and is entirely professionally welded. Aluminum must be dry and warm when it is welded. The hull is entirely 1/4-inch marine grade 5086H116 aluminum. The topsides are the same only 3/16-inch thick. The mast is deck stepped for easy take down for canal and bridge work. The aft cockpit is roomy and can accommodate a fold down table between the side seats and has room for wheel steering towards the stern. More seating could be placed into the transom railings. The rudder is skeg & transom hung for ease of repair and it's large size makes for excellent control. The skeg contains the anti freeze for the engine cooling. This system is extremely effective and eliminates the need for thru-hulls. The plan for the drive installation calls for a soft mounted engine under the raised salon sole. Power will be transferred to the prop via a constant velocity / thrust bearing mounted on a bulkhead. The stern tube is set up for a 1 1/2-inch prop shaft. The fin keel contains the lead ballast and 200 gallon fuel capacity. The large fresh water tanks are built into the hull on both sides of the engine. The bilge provides plenty of room for machinery, tanks and storage.
