The 290 Tarpon is a long-range center
console designed to appeal to serious anglers
with an appreciation for the rugged durability
long associated with the Stamas nameplate.
Hull
construction is solid fiberglass, and a sleek
profile and full-height transom make her one of
the best-looking rigs of her type on the market.
A 300-gallon fuel capacity providess good
range,
even with a freshwater sink and a large
livewell.
A second livewell is built into the walk-through
transom, and two lockable in-deck storage
boxes flank the console. A Private head
compartment is accessed from the front of the
console. Note that the deck is flush from the
stern to the bow where a filler converts the U-
shaped seating into a large casting platform.
Twin 225-hp Yamaha outboards will cruise the
290 Tarpon easily at 25 knots and reach a top
speed in the neighborhood of 42 knots.
