General Description

Guanahani was launched July 2, 1999. For four years she spent time in fresh water on Lake Ontario. In winter she was always on the hard. On September 10, 2003 she sailed away from Kingston, Ontario, Canada and her owners lived aboard for three months while boating to Florida, a 2400 mile trip.

Guanahani is a steel boat based on the lines of John Hanna's famous Carol Ketch. Her owner extended the design lines to build a hard chine 48 foot staysail schooner. The custom built boat was to be a retirement home and vehicle to adventure, her owners now find the boat too big for them.

Guanahani is a home away from home and where the boat is now docked and the annual fee for dockage is only $300.00 a month(seasonal would be more). The boat could be a good live aboard home for someone.

A recent (July 2003) survey completed by a certified marine surveyor valued Guanahani at $100,000.00 and compared it to production run boats of the same size that cost over $400,000.00.
