General Description

This well presented Vagabond 47 is a heavy-displacement, full-keel cruising cutter rigged ketch that is designed and built for very comfortable coastal cruising, or the serious blue water ocean sailor.
The interior berthing arrangements can be made for a large family or a large volume live aboard. The interior is of solid teak and the soft furnishings comprise of very tasteful navy blue leather.

The one-piece hull is of hand-laid solid fiberglass construction with an internally-sealed, cast-iron ballast encapsulated in fiberglass.

This Vagabond was built by Blue Water yachts in Taipei, Taiwan. Both the mainmast and mizzen are aluminium and the vessel is equipped with a furling cutter and headsail for ease of handling. Total sail area is about 1,010 Sq Feet. She is 47 feet long on deck, and approx. 55 feet overall, (adding in the aft dingy davits) The yacht is equipped with a 80hp Ford Lehman diesel engine and fitted with an auxiliary 6 KW generator.

It has comfortable accommodations for 6 people in three main cabins and addidional sea berths in the saloon. The aft cabin is fit for a king and the head room will accommodate the tallest of people at 7 feet. Two heads with separate showers are provided fore and aft.

�Vagabonds will really sail-full and bye in a lump sea, broad reach and run off before it with complete control and with no tendency to broach, stay on her feet and be sea kindly in all kinds of weather.

The underbody provides an well protected efficient rudder and propeller. The long keel provides stability downwind The hull is one piece fiberglass with U.S. rovings, mats, and resins. It is 1-1/8 inches thick at the keel. The decks look beautiful and are 4 years old. They are flat and provide easy safe access anywhere on the vessel, with considerable work area around the mast."

Very worthy of a closer inspection for a serious cruiser with little to do to start sailing.
