O'Day built their boats stronger than they had to be, by laying up the fiberglass decks and hulls by hand, instead of spraying them with chopped fibers. The O'Day 34 offers a V-berth forward, and double saloon berth to port, single berth to starboard, and another quarter berth starboard-aft. Per 2002 survey report, the following minor recommendations were addressed:
Prop was fully reconditioned by Essex Machine Works. Keel was dropped and 2 new keel bolts were installed and then re-attached. All lighting is fully functional, sanitation discharge thru-hull valve was replaced. Holding tank was removed, bleached and re-installed with all new hoses and a brand new head. Water fill deck plate was re-bedded along with holding tank pump out plate. Automatic alternator control was replaced. Galley sink discharge valve/thru-hull was replaced and rebedded. Main Halyard and genoa halyard replaced, all interior cushions replaced 2003, new VHF and GPS.
