General Description

Our â��Contessa" is a solidly built center cockpit sailboat, with Gulfstar's optional ketch rigging. She has a fin keel, keel stepped mast, a 135-hp Perkins, fresh water-cooled, naturally aspirated diesel engine with only 3800-hours and aft deck seat lockers. Her hull structure is molded fiberglass with a fiberglass balsa core reinforced deck. This is an extremely sturdy vessel that truly lives up to Gulfstar's great quality. Her interior offers large fixed windows in the salon, plenty of large overhead hatches, solid teak paneled staterooms and head doors, a teak and holly sole throughout, two private heads with walk-in showers in both, varnished interior teak bulkheads and trim, refrigeration in the U-shaped galley located forward of the main salon and an owners (huge) aft stateroom with a double berth, settee, lots of hanging lockers and drawer storage. The navigational station is amidships with plenty of room for electronics and storage of charts. â��Contessa" has been highly maintained by a very experienced owner and has spent half of her life in fresh water. She has central heat and air conditioning (two-zone), a U-line icemaker, automatic anchor windlass, a new 8-kw Onan generator in 1995 (only 200-hours) and fresh bottom paint with a barrier coat in April of 2005, just to mention a few of her very many upgrades. This owner is looking for something smaller, with less draft, as he has very little time for extensive cruising these days because of work commitments, but will also consider an automobile/truck, another smaller boat or land in partial-trade.
