General Description

There are many yacht designs that are standard and seem to follow the same criteria of thought. It is refreshing to step aboard a yacht that has been well thought out and is equipped with features that allows for unrestricted passage.
The Adams 44 is a cruising yacht that is cleaver by design with excellent sailing capabilities that will make her competitive in club and regatta events.

Starting aft the solid targa arch houses the wind generator, elevated radar and 2 x 80 Watt solar Panels. Part of this arch is a solid stainless steel push pit, transom boarding ladder with an essential gas BBQ. The helm station is separate from the cock pit and is vast and uncluttered. This is a very good size aft cock pit for a vessel that has a large amount of sailing performance. Under the dodger contains numerous jammers that will allow most sail sets to be preformed from the cock pit. An aft awning is extended while at anchor and provides sufficient protection. Amidships is the centre board. Don?t worry about your back because its electric and when down is a deep 9ft which only means good windward performance and reduced leeway. When the keel is up this vessel only draws 4 feet enabling venturing to places normally reserved for multihulls. A fully battened main is kept in a lazy jack system and the furling headsail adds to the ease of sail handling. Forward of the mast is a mounted life raft , large forward hatch and excellent gound tackle. All of this area is covered and protected when not underway.

Down below the companionway enters into a separate section containing 2 of the 3 double cabins. The step down below is the cover of the reconditioned Perkins and has unlimited service access. Many centre boards vessels while having good sailing attributes and shallow draft tend to inhibit the saloon. In this case the saloon is forward of the casing with a full unobscured saloon table and seating. The saloon table naturally converts to another double for the regatta crew .There is a huge shower and head on this yacht. Don?t worry about running out of water because there is a small water maker. A second smaller shower and head is located forward to port with all main areas having 6ft 7 of headroom. The galley runs longitudinally with ample bench space, gimbaled Broadwater stove and good refrigeration access. The navigation table to starboard and is protected form an open companionway that will give you all the electrics at your finger tips. Navigation equipment includes GPS, Radar and communications being a VHF and HF radio.
