ACCOMMODATIONS
MERLIN IS ONE OF 0NLY TWO CATANA 48Rs BUILT BY CATANA. THE CATANA 48R WAS A SPECIAL DESIGN BUILT WITH ADDITIONAL KEVLAR AND CARBON FIBER TO REDUCE WEIGHT AND HAS A TALLER RIG WITH A BOWSPRIT TO CARRY MORE SAIL. Main saloon: Large horse shoe lounge with 4 oversize opening ports and double doors leading to cockpit. Galley is along aft lounge between two pontoons. Has 2 large oval sinks, pressure and manual water, oven, counter top 3 burner stove, mechanical refrigerator/freezer, microwave. Large table with opening leaves to seat eight comfortably. Charts and electronics to starboard in main saloon.
Port pontoon: Aft 4 batteries, easy access - 28 HP Volvo next aft. Queen berth to starboard of passageway. Another queen berth forward. Next forward, electric head, sink and shower. Then storage in forward section of pontoon.
Starboard side - starting aft: storage aft of engine: then easy access to engine. Spare double berth to port of engine room. Also used for storage. Next forward built-in spare parts room. Forward, electric head, sink and shower. Storage forward of head.
