more, the 292 Commodore is a good-looking
stern-drive cruiser with very upscale
accommodations. She's built on a solid
fiberglass hull with a relatively wide beam and
innovative trim tab pods beneath the swim
platform. In the European fashion, the 292 is
one of a growing number of American-made
express cruisers with no bow pulpit. Her plush,
maxi-beam interior (there are no sidedecks)
includes double berths fore and aft and a
convertible dinette in the salon�berths for four
adults and two kids. There are privacy curtains
for both staterooms, and the rich furnishings and
Corian countertops lend a touch of luxury not
often seen in a boat this size. The cockpit has a
U-shaped lounge aft that converts into a sun pad
and fold-away bench seating at the transom.
Additional features include a walk-through
windshield, a very styled curved arch, and a
recessed anchor windlass. Twin 230-hp Volvo
Penta I/O's will cruise the 292 Commodore at 25
knots and reach 48 knots wide open.
