Construction:
HULL: GRP hull single skin hand laid with stringers and frames to Lloyds approval. Hull in blue Awlgrip. Transom extension fitted 1999.
KEEL: Moderate draft fin design, moulded integral with hull, lead encapsulated within the GRP moulding.

MCA safety standards for unrestricted ocean-going charter ("Category 0")

This well-known Holman & Pye design started as 53-foot with a cut-away transom, and was then modified by adding a "sugar-scoop" stern to give longer waterline length and a bathing platform. Early hulls - including this one - were built to the earlier design and later modified.

Current owner bought her and made her more suitable as a charter and adventure cruising yacht (three existing bulkheads were made fully watertight, with watertight doors added; additional sea berths were constructed: MCA "Category 0" coding was obtained; a 4kVA generator was installed; the 12V electrics were fully re-furbished, with additional battery banks added; 12V fridge and freezer were installed; SSB radio fitted; new liferafts; new sails)

2007:
New engine

Comments:
One of the few Oysters which has been upgraded to achieve MCA class 00 which means she is capable of taking charter guests across oceans in full luxury comfort and space which by no means compromises her sailing ability. She accommodates 8 guests comfortably in 3 cabins but can actually sleep up to 12. Her inventory includes a new engine 2007, watermaker and in mast furling.
