General Description

The 40' Viking Sedan is the model that defined Viking as a quality East Coast builder. A huge sales success with over 400 built, the 40 Sedan boasts aggressive styling and rugged hull construction along with large bridge, generous cockpit, and spacious interior. It's easy to see why they are so popular.

The bridge is large with hardtop, with forward & side enclosures, overhead electronics, captain & companion helm seats, and guest seating forward of the console. The electronics include Garmin 2010C chartplotter, Raytheon RIOx4 radar, Benmar autopilot, depth sounder, compass, and Standard Horizon VHF radio. Below is cockpit is equally large, you won't bump elbows with fellow fishermen. It's bimini-covered and features a wet bar, tackle station, and cockpit freezer. There's room to fish and after fishing not a bad place to pull out the deck chairs celebrate the catch with a cold refreshment.

A portside door leads from the cockpit to the open salon with teak interior and lots of room to relax and discuss the one that got away. Starboard is a large L-shaped settee with drop-leaf table, and end table with flat screen TV. Portside is a built-in cabinet with handy ice maker, arm chair, and lower helm station. Starboard and down is the full service galley with refrigerator/freezer, two-burner electric stove, microwave oven, and stainless steel sink with pressurized hot & cold water. There are two staterooms forward. The portside stateroom has double berth and hanging locker. The forward stateroom has a V-berth, dresser, and hanging locker. The head compartment is located portside between staterooms with access from the companionway or the forward stateroom.

Valkyrie is powered by twin Johnson & Tower 410hp diesel engines with 2800 hours. She will cruise at 23 knots. She is also equipped with an 8kW Phasor generator, and two Cruiseaire AC units.
