Vehicle Description Cheoy 27 1969 The Cheoy Lee Cadet 27 is a real classic from the first days of production fiberglass boats in the 60s. Designed by Taylor Newell, the Cadet is a boat that you can be proud of at any vintage rigada. Go to the Cheoy Lee association web site at www.cheoyleeassociation.com to see the fun you will have meeting the owners, chat room, help on your project, and the pride these people have in their yachts. She is trailorable without permits, which makes her a perfect project to do at home without exorbitant yards bills. Her present condition is good enough to have some fun sailing -"TODAY"- with some small amount of work. The Yanmar 2GM runs great but needs the exhaust system repaired (estimated cost for repairs is about $450.00 for lab and mtls). She needs a minor fiberglass repair under the broken rub rail at the port midship deck seam about 3 long. She has three sails that look good, the standing and running rigging look o.k. The mast has just been stripped, sanded, and revarnished. All parts look to be original, however, the pedestal and wheel have been added, but the original tiller is still with her. The fiberglass hull looks good with no obvious blisters. The plywood around the cabin windows, cockpit hatches, and the icebox needs replacing. There are some other soft spots, but for a Cheoy this age, it is to be expected
