General Description

72' HATTERAS Custom Cockpit Motoryacht. <br>Built in 1981 as a 61' motoryacht with four staterooms. She has been modified with a custom 11' cockpit extending her overall length to 72'. The cockpit has a hydraulic fold down transom and the deck hatch raises, which provides access for a dinghy, kayaks, windsurfers, or an ATV. <br>In 1998, the vessel had a major refit including the aft deck overhang extension, upgraded electronics, new generator and an overhaul of the second generator, as well as a complete overhaul of main engines. Her present owner has recently LP painted entire topsides, new interior furnishings including wall covering, carpets, lighting, galley appliances, and re-varnished interior. All systems have been gone through. Powered by GM 12V71TI's offering 12-13 knot cruise and maximum of over 20 knots, with Mathers electronic controls at pilothouse and flybridge stations. She has Naiad stabilizers and carries 1700 gal of fuel. Extensive additions such as 1200 GPD watermaker, '99 Zodiac 13' hard bottom inflatable w/50HP Yamaha outboard, airseps, floscans, life raft and much more. MUST SEE TO APPRECIATE!!!

ACCOMMODATIONS: This four stateroom Hatteras continues to be popular due to her modern galley up floorplan and full width salon, as well as her extravagant private owner's cabin with walk-in wardrobe. The full teak interior has been refinished, and tastefully redone with new furnishings, wall covering, carpets, and lighting.
<br>Starting forward, the chain locker is divided in two, followed by the forward guest stateroom. There are over under berths to starboard with drawers below, hanging locker follows with cabinets & drawers to port. There are two opening screened ports and a hatch opening to the fordeck. Forward head has a stall shower w/glass door, porcelain sink, electric marine toilet, mirror & cabinet. Up three steps to a desk area and chest of drawers to starboard and second guest stateroom opposite to port. This stateroom has two single berths w/drawers below, hanging locker, sliding opening screened window and second guest head. Head has electric marine toilet, molded in fiberglass sink & shower, mirror & cabinet. Down four steps to third to third guest stateroom to port w/two side by side berths, drawers below, hanging locker and two opening screened ports. Third head opposite to starboard w/porcelain sink, electric marine toilet, mirror & cabinet, and stall shower w/glass door opposite to port. The passageway to the engine room has lockers, linen closet and Frigidaire washer dryer. Engine access on center. Up a curved stairway to the pilothouse w/lower steering station and full guages, side deck access doors P&S, a bench seat, and a ladder up to the flybridge. Aft of the pilothouse is a U shape galley to port and dinette opposite. Continuing aft to full width salon. There are sliding screened windows, two new leather sofas facing fore & aft w/glass coffee table. There is a RCA color TV console to starboard and cabinet aft to port. Kenwood double stereo casette, multi compact disk, and audio video receiver built into a tandor covered cabinet. Curved stairs down & aft to starboard leads to owner's aft cabin. This spacious cabin has a King size twartship berth, walk-in cedar lined closet w/Whirlpool washer dryer, love seat aft, with cabinets and drawers, three opening screened ports, and two large opening ports to cockpit. Owner's head to starboard has large tub shower w/jacuzzi jets, sliding mirrored door, electric toilet, porcelain sink, mirrors & cabinet. From the salon, aft through a sliding glass door to covered aft deck w/teak handrail and stainless and teak step ladder to flybridge. From the aft deck, there is a stainless and teak step ladder down to custom cockpit. The cockpit deck hatch lifts up and the transom drops down to access a storage garage suitable for a dinghy, jet ski, or kayaks. There are large storage lockers throughout cockpit, and a transom door opens to a heavy teak swim step. The bridge has captain & navigator helm seats, a teak cabinet to port w/SS sink and U-line ice maker. Guest seating all around, followed by electric davit to hoist a hard bottom dinghy on custom cradle. Foredeck has stainless bow pulpit, electric windlass w/teak overlay on anchor platform. There are two dunnage boxes and a bench seat w/storage.

GALLEY: Spacious U shape up galley to port on the deckhouse level, aft of pilothouse has contributed to the popularity of this design. A rare feature in 80's vintage yachts, but desirable in today's market. Abundant storage and corian counter space, with refinished cabinets and new appliances. There is a dinette opposite.

True pilothouse with excellent visibility, side deck access doors P&S, and a comfortable bench seat. A ladder provides direct access to flybridge. Mathers-Microcommand electronic engine controls, controls for Naiad stabilizers, and remote windlass controls at both stations. Pilothouse has closed circuit TV monitor of engine room, 8 station intercom system, remote control searchlight, and windshield wipers.
