General Description

This Jeanneau 52.2 was originally purchased by an expat living in Hong Kong in 2002. The current owner purchased the boat in July 2004, and sailed it to Singapore, Jakarta, and back to Singapore where she is moored today. The boat has been set up by an experienced sailor for long distance cruising. It includes an asymetrical spinnaker with snuffer for easy shorthanded management. The spinnaker pole stores on the mast to keep the teak decks clear. Important for autonomy and convenience, a watermaker has been installed with easy accessibility for routine maintenance. Complete consumable spares for the main engine, genset, and watermaker are on board. Detailed maintenance logs have been kept by the aircraft pilot/engineer owner.
This boat performed impeccably whilst cruising in the tropics from Hong Kong to the far Eastern Islands of Indonesia. The whole cockpit, seating eight or more, is shielded by the huge bimini. Below, three upgraded air-conditioning units keep the three staterooms and main salon cool and comfortable. Each stateroom has a head with shower for maximum enjoyment, plus another hot & cold shower on the transom swim deck. The watermaker provide copious fresh water for all.

The practical galley has both freezer and refrigerator, both running quietly on 12 Volts. The four burner gimbaled stove with oven is supported by two remote propane tanks for long distance independence. A microwave rounds out the complete galley. Power management is easy with the 400+ Amp gel cell battery bank, in addition to two starter batteries for the main engine and genset. With two high output alternators on the main engine, a genset with battery charger, and 220v and 12v receptacles throughout the boat, all creature comforts are supported. Jeanneau knows how to build an electrical panel that monitors charging and usage. The owner also demanded performance. The Bruce Farr designed hull with high performance keel and tall mast option delivered with 200 mile days during good beam reaching weather.

Despite all the work and expense in fitting this fine boat for long distance cruising, due to job/career pressures the boat has seen little use. The owner s job demands means, another lucky person can live the dream of high performance cruising!
