boat. Huge fines can be issued (easily in excess of
$100,000), and Federal Agents will seize your boat with
no warning. You won't get it back until you pay the past
fines. However, if the past owner of the boat did not
pay the fines you may be required to pay them and/or
lose your boat. Under admiralty law, a vessel is its own
entity and the fine is transferred with the vessel.
